The hill has wings

Created during my month-long residency in Pittsburgh’s historic Hill District, The Hill Has Wings grew from the relationships I built with the people who call the neighborhood home.

Rather than arriving with a finished story, I spent time listening, learning, and allowing the community to shape the work. The mural became a celebration of the Hill, its history, its people, and the generations continuing to carry its story forward.

The process was documented in a short film capturing the people, conversations, and experiences behind the mural.

The hues of us

Painted in Overtown, Miami, a neighborhood once segregated under the name “Colored Town” The Hues of Us looks at the relationship between a community’s past and the people who carry it forward today.

The mural reimagines fragments of Overtown’s history through the faces, colors, and spirit of its present, honoring a neighborhood that has continued to evolve while holding onto its cultural identity.

SHALL WE RIDE

Shall We Ride is an ode to the young people who move through Miami together on bikes, taking over streets, creating community, and experiencing their city through movement.

Painted on Regions Bank in Overtown, the mural reflects the young people already present within the neighborhood while imagining what becomes possible when institutions invest in the communities they serve. It is a celebration of freedom, connection, and our ability to ride together toward something greater.

With this piece titled Rural Land. I wanted to highlight the cultural landscape in which the office is located. The plants being a representation of the growth The future of Cities Hub will strive to produce. As we shape a new world around us may it bare fruit to those that have been here and to those that will come to call this place home.

NOT A GAME ITS PEOPLE

What a pleasure to create this “NOT A GAME ITS PEOPLE” mural in Brooklyn.
The mural showcases the impacts of vulture hedge funds based in NY exploiting Nations in economic crisis like PR, Venezuela, Congo and many others in Caribbean and Latin American nations. Sovereign debt is a colonial vestige that is exploited by Wall Street. And we can join the efforts of @cuffh @gohedgeclippers @popdemoc @ny4change to pass a legislation that can regulate their moves.

JOrdan rebellionaire shoe mural

I was asked by UNKNWN store in miami to create a mural in collaboration with Jordan to commemorate the the drop of their Rebellionaire shoe that honors the first Air Jordan shoe that the NBA tried to ban Jordan from wearing on the court. I wanted the focus of the mural to be on the people that the Jordan brand has had such a massive presence and connection with. the other athletes that go out everyday and play like it’s the finals.

I was asked to create a mural that reflects the diversity in the city of miami by MLK mural project for the solidarity for change project.

And I thought about all the different ethnicities and cultures that reside in Miami and how music is one of the biggest connecting factors. You might be chilling and singing songs that derive from your haitian heritage that then leads you into the new Bachata song you heard the little boy dancing to down the street, then you remember the older cuban songs you would hear being performed while walking through lil Havana. The culture is rich and fun. it’s what makes Miami the wonderful city we love.
